These bars are simply delicious! I make them every year for my birthday using cherry pie filling

  • Instructions:
    1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
    2. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and almond extracts.
    4. Gradually add flour and salt to the creamed mixture.
    5. Spread 3 cups of the batter into the prepared pan.
    6. Top with cherry pie filling.
    7. Drop remaining batter by teaspoonfuls over the filling.
    8. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
    9. Cool on a wire rack, dust with powdered sugar, and serve.
