½ cup whole milk
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 tablespoon cornmeal
2 cups chopped onion
¾ cup sugar
½ cup all-purpose flour
Salt and pepper to taste
Cooking oil
Instructions:
In a bowl, combine all the ingredients except the oil.
Heat about ½ to 1 inch of oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.
Once the oil reaches around 175°C (350°F), drop spoonfuls of batter into the pan, spreading them out slightly.
Brown the dumplings on one side, then flip and brown the other side.
Remove the dumplings and drain them on a rack lined with paper towels.
Serve with sour cream or your favorite sauce. Enjoy!
